Customer pointed out my blend line after 2 years in the booth, feel dumb
So I been painting for about 2 years at a shop in Tampa. This week a customer came to pick up his silver Civic and he looked at the door jamb and said "you can see where you stopped clear coating." I was like no way, buffed it the day before. But he was right. Under the shop lights, the clear edge was visible in that low light angle. I always did the standard 2 stage blend on the adjacent panel, but I never paid attention to how I cut the clear on the inside edge of the door. Now I'm thinking about every repair I did this year. Anyone else had a customer see something you missed and how do you prep for those hidden spots now? I'm about to start feathering clear further into the jambs and maybe using a tighter tape line, but not sure if that's overkill.
