Hit my 500th quarter panel replacement last Thursday and almost missed it

I was just going through my work logs for the year and realized I hit 500 quarter panel replacements since I started at this shop in 2018. That number caught me off guard because I never counted until now. Most of them were on F-150s and Chevy Silverados from that hail storm we had back in 2021. The funny part is my coworker joked I should get a trophy or something, but the only reward was another rusted out Tacoma coming in that same afternoon. Has anyone else hit a weird milestone like this and felt nothing special about it?

500 panels is a wild number to hit and it's crazy how something that big can just slide by without any kind of fanfare. That hail storm cleanup work really piles up fast and turns into a blur, doesn't it. Rusted out Tacomas are the real trophy around here, the kind nobody actually wants to win.

I heard some guy on a podcast say that hail damage is actually one of the most common insurance claims out there, like it happens way more than people realize. 500 panels though, that's not just a claim that's a whole new roof for like a small warehouse or something. I remember reading somewhere that those storms can drop hail the size of softballs in some places, which is insane if you think about it hitting your car or house. And yeah the Tacoma thing is real, I saw a photo online of one that was so rusted the whole bed was basically just brown dust held together by hope.
