My primer gun settings were off for 2 years until a painter noticed

I used the same fluid knob position on my SATA for every job since I started at a shop near Wichita. A freelance painter watched me shoot a fender and asked why I was laying it down so dry. He adjusted the fan pattern and cap pressure in about 30 seconds, and the coverage looked totally different. Anyone else realize a basic setting was wrong way longer than they want to admit?
