Pro tip: that $60 dent puller kit from Amazon cost me an extra $400 in body work
I tried pulling a hail dent on my F-150 last month with one of those cheap suction cup kits. Stupid move. It popped the paint clean off around the dent and I had to bring it to a shop to get the whole panel resprayed. My buddy at the shop said those kits are fine for plastic bumpers but never on metal panels. Anyone else learn this the hard way?

Has anybody checked if the dent puller itself left any residue or damage before the paint popped? @jennifer965 that Civic story sounds rough, but I've seen some of those kits leave adhesive behind that bonds weird with older paint and makes things worse. Good to know for next time.
