Serious question, has a customer ever tried to tell you how to do your job while you're under their car?
Last week in Akron, a guy kept pointing at a dent and saying 'just slap some filler in there' while I was explaining the frame pull it actually needed. How do you handle that without losing your cool?

Had a customer do that exact thing last year. I just stopped, wiped my hands, and asked him to come look at the alignment pins with me. Showing him the bent metal right there, not just talking about it, usually makes it click. It turns a debate into a lesson they can see. You have to be the expert, but you have to let them see the proof for themselves.

My version of that is showing them a melted wire I keep in my toolbox. Works every time.

Totally get that. Sometimes you need the physical proof right in front of them to end the argument. Makes your job way easier when they finally see it.
