Spent 4 hours chasing a blend line on a silver Camry before I figured out the sealer was the problem

Kept re-spraying the blend on the quarter panel and the metallic kept mottling no matter what I did with the gun. Turned out the sealer underneath was too dark, so I was basically fighting my own base coat the whole time. Anyone else ever burn half a day on a blend before checking the sealer first?
