Stumbled on a stat about filler shrinkage that threw me for a loop
Was reading through a 3M tech bulletin last night and found out polyester filler can shrink up to 3% if you lay it on too thick. Always just winged it before, has anyone else noticed issues with thicker coats down the line?

That 3% number sounds about right for thicker applications, but it might be worth double checking which 3M product you were reading about. Some of their newer fillers have different shrinkage rates depending on the hardener ratio. Just watch your coat thickness and it should treat you fine.
