Switched to waterborne primer on a 2018 Civic and the finish came out cloudy
Tried a new brand of waterborne primer on a rear bumper last Tuesday. Followed the tech sheet exactly - 60 psi, 6 inches distance, 2 medium coats. Let it flash 10 minutes between coats like it said. When I cleared it, the whole thing looked milky. Sanded it back down and went back to my old solvent primer and it came out perfect. Anyone else run into this switching to waterborne? Or was it just that specific brand?

Yeah, that brand's trash. Stick with what works.

Elliot said that brand's trash, and honestly, I had a buddy who tried the same thing on his Accord. He followed the directions to a T and it came out looking like someone spilled milk on his bumper. He switched back to his old stuff too and it was fine.
