The old school hammer technique I see nobody use anymore

Been doing body work since 1998 and I swear the younger guys in my shop look at me crazy when I pull out a body hammer and dolly for anything smaller than a foot wide dent. Last week in Phoenix we had a 2018 F150 with a shopping cart ding on the rear quarter, maybe 3 inches across. Kid wanted to fill it with bondo and prime it, took me maybe 20 minutes with the hammer and dolly to get it 95% out, no filler needed. Everyone's so hooked on pulling studs and using those slide hammers for everything that they forgot the basics. I learned this from an old timer in San Diego who said a good metal finisher can make a quarter look like it never got hit. Is anyone else still doing hammer work first or am I just a dinosaur in a digital world?

Slide hammers have their place, but that kid's gonna learn real quick that filler cracks in Phoenix heat.
