I talked to a dispatcher in Dallas last month who told me never to put down a deposit on a car shipment because the brokers just sit on your money and the drivers get paid at the door anyway. That hit different because I had already wired $150 to a company in Florida two days earlier and they stopped answering my calls. Has anyone here actually shipped a car with zero deposit up front, or is that just something dispatchers say to make themselves sound honest?
