Debate: Should we trust factory crimp settings or manually adjust for every connector?
I found that sticking with the factory crimp tool settings on D-sub pins gave me perfect connections 9 out of 10 times, but after switching to manual adjustments for each wire gauge on a 150-pin harness last week I got zero failures so which approach actually holds up better long term?

Well son of a gun, now I'm second guessing every single connector I've ever crimped with the dial set and left it... Maybe the factories are just gambling with our time and we don't even know it. Sounds like you traded a 90% success rate for a perfect score, so I'd say manual is the way to go for anything that matters.

Wait, 90% success rate on a crimper is actually terrifying, I can't believe people trust those.
