I watched a guy at the hangar try to fix a G1000 screen with a regular glass cleaner last week.
He sprayed it right on the display and wiped it with a paper towel. I told him that stuff can wreck the anti-glare coating, but he said it was fine because it was 'just glass.' I keep my own bottle of the proper avionics-safe wipes in my toolbox for a reason. How many of you have seen this happen, and what do you say to stop it?

Notice how people act like basic hygiene is some kind of magic trick. Saw a guy at the gas station use a wipe on the pump handle and got a full-on stare. It's like we forgot a whole pandemic happened. Makes you wonder what other simple, smart habits we now treat as weird. Why is being prepared suddenly a public spectacle?
