Old school paper manuals beat the new digital ones for me every time

Our shop switched to all digital manuals on tablets about a year ago. I gave it a real shot, but I keep going back to my printed binder for the Cessna 172S. Trying to find a specific wiring diagram on a tablet while my hands are dirty is a pain, and the screen always times out. I can flip to a dog-eared page in my paper book in two seconds flat. Does anyone else feel like the digital push is making simple jobs harder?

Ugh, the screen timeout is the worst! Do you think the problem is the tech itself, or just how they set it up for you guys?

Remember trying to show my dad a parts diagram on his phone last week. He just grunted and walked over to his greasy, bookmarked paper manual on the bench.

That manual probably has his own notes in the margins.
