Yeah those late night calls can be a lifesaver. Had a guy in Memphis talk me down from a similar glitch once, just kept me calm and walked through the reset steps.

That part about him keeping you calm is key. We always talk about the tech steps but forget the human skill it takes to do that at 3am. That guy was basically doing free crisis management while looking at a server log. Makes you wonder how many outages are made worse because the person on the line doesn't know how to handle someone who's panicking. They should teach that soft skill stuff in tech support training, not just the reboot commands.

Those reset steps are everything, but the real trick is knowing which reset to try first. I've had that situation on a King Air 350 where dumping the avionics master for a full 30 seconds cleared up a stuck 429 bus, not just cycling the avionics power switch quick. That calm voice on the other end telling you exactly what to touch and in what order keeps your hands from shaking and making it worse. Having a written cheat sheet of those specific bus fault resets taped to the glare shield saves everyone from that 9 PM panic call in the first place.
