That apprentice who kept ignoring the wiring diagram cost me 3 hours last shift
Ngl, I was showing a new guy how to trace a harness fault on a CRJ-200 panel at the hangar in Phoenix, and he kept jumping ahead without checking the schematic. He swore the pinout was right, but after 45 minutes of dead ends we found he'd swapped two ground wires. Has anyone else had to deal with trainees who think they know better than the manual?

Pride's expensive everywhere, not just in the hangar.

Oh man, I totally get where you're coming from @sammoore, but I see it a little different. In my experience, the hangar adds a whole other layer of cost on top of everything else - like tools, inspection fees, and storage for stuff you barely use. The markup on parts and labor at a shop can be way steeper than what you'd pay for a simple part or a weekend project at home. Your mileage may vary though, maybe your local place is fairer than mine.
