That Tuesday when 3 planes went AOG before lunch and I finally saw what good wiring looks like
Two weeks ago at the hangar in Wichita we had three jets grounded with squawks before 11am, which almost never happens on the same shift. The first one was an intermittent APU fire loop that only showed up in a cold soak, and I chased a chafed harness behind the aft pressure bulkhead for two hours. The second turned out to be a cracked cannon plug on a pitot heat circuit that looked perfect until I wiggled it under load. What made the day stand out was the third jet, where the previous shop had tied every wire bundle with wax lacing cord at perfect 3 inch spacing and zip tied nothing. It made me realize how much quicker a repair goes when the last guy cared. Anybody else notice the neat jobs take half the time to troubleshoot? What is the worst rat nest you have opened up?
