Brought my famous seven-layer dip to Thanksgiving and my aunt pulled out a store-bought version right after I set mine down

She didn't even taste mine, just said 'oh honey, next time save yourself the hassle' and now I'm wondering if I should just lean into being the canned cranberry sauce person for Christmas, has anyone else dealt with a relative who actively undermines your cooking at family dinners?

Honestly, 'oh honey, next time save yourself the hassle' is the kind of passive-aggressive move that deserves a reply like 'oh auntie, next time save yourself the trip to the store.' I say lean into it, bring the canned cranberry sauce with a little sign that says "homemade with love" and watch her head spin. She's just mad your seven-layer dip made hers look like a sad grocery store afterthought.

Maybe it's just me but I'd start bringing hot sauce and calling it a day.
