My cousin's new boyfriend brought his pet ferret to Easter dinner at my grandma's house.
The ferret got loose and ran under the table during grace, and my aunt screamed it was a rat. Has anyone else had a pet completely derail a holiday meal?

Always ask about pets before a holiday meal. We had a similar issue with a friend's parrot that wouldn't stop squawking. Now we have a quiet room set aside with a water bowl and a blanket, just in case. It saves a lot of drama.
