Pro tip: Never let Uncle Dave host Christmas dinner if he's "experimenting" in the kitchen
Last month at my aunt's house, Uncle Dave decided to make a turkey with a root beer glaze he found online. My cousin took one bite and spit it out because it tasted like burnt soda and sadness. Then my grandma yelled at him for wasting food, and the whole table went dead silent for like 5 minutes. Has anyone else had a family member try a crazy recipe that just bombed hard?

Wait, did he at least try the root beer glaze on something else first, or just wing it on the turkey? I once made a "spicy chocolate chili" and my own dog wouldn't eat it, so I feel your cousin's pain lol. Family dinners can turn into a real gamble when someone gets ambitious like that.
