The Christmas my uncle tried to carve the turkey with a chainsaw (yes, really)
So this was about 6 years ago at my aunt's house in Ohio. My uncle Bob showed up with his chainsaw, claiming he'd 'streamline the carving process' after a few too many beers. He actually revved it up at the table, and my grandma just sat there eating her mashed potatoes like nothing was happening. Has anyone else had a relative take holiday prep way too seriously, or was my family uniquely unhinged that year?

Bet the chainsaw was cleaner than most of my uncle's kitchen knives, honestly.

Haha, the chainsaw being cleaner than someone's kitchen knives is such a wild but believable comparison. I actually saw a study once that said most people's home knife blocks have more bacteria than a toilet seat. Something about people just wiping them off instead of washing them properly with soap. It really makes you think twice about cutting vegetables with that rusty blade your uncle has had since the 90s. A chainsaw at least gets oil and fuel running through it that probably kills most stuff, right? Have you ever actually seen him clean those knives or is it just a rinse and go situation?

Bar oil won't kill bacteria, it just doesn't give them a good place to grow.
