Vent: My uncle brought his new girlfriend to Easter and she tried to fix my parents' marriage

So we're all sitting down for Easter dinner at my grandma's house in Springfield. My uncle shows up with his new girlfriend, Lisa, who we've never met. Everything's fine until dessert, when my dad makes a joke about my mom always being late. It's their usual bit, but Lisa suddenly gets super serious. She puts down her fork and says, 'I sense a lot of unresolved tension here. Have you two considered couples therapy? I'm a certified life coach.' The whole table went dead silent for like 15 seconds. My mom just stared at her plate and my dad's face turned red. I tried to save it by asking who wanted more pie, but the vibe was totally wrecked. Has anyone else had a total stranger try to 'therapize' your family dinner out of nowhere? What do you even say?

My cousin's yoga instructor did this at a birthday party last year. I mean, it feels like everyone with a weekend certification suddenly has a license to diagnose your whole life. It just makes normal family stuff feel like a public therapy session.

Spot this all the time now. It's like every hobby or interest comes with a new set of rules to judge people by. Suddenly your diet, your sleep schedule, or how you talk to your mom is up for review by someone who just read a book. Turns basic human stuff into a problem to fix.
