Blocked my ex's number before a first date and it saved the whole night

I was about to cancel because she kept texting me drama, so I just hit block 10 minutes before and had the best date I've had in 2 years. Has anyone else found that cutting off external noise before a date actually helps you focus on the person in front of you?

Oh absolutely, I always give my ex a full itinerary of my blocking schedule. She'd be so lost without knowing exactly when I'm ignoring her. But honestly, the best part was seeing her texts pop up while I was on the date and just swiping them away like a notification for a sale at a store I hate. The silence was louder than any apology she could've typed out. I even checked my phone in the bathroom once just to see if she'd sent a novel. She had. I smiled, put the phone away, and went back to ordering dessert.
