Ghosted after 4 dates, then they texted 6 months later like nothing happened

Honestly, I need opinions on this because I keep going back and forth. I saw this guy from Bumble for a month, four solid dates around Austin, we even talked about a trip to Fredericksburg. Then he just vanished, no text, no explanation, nothing. I was annoyed but moved on, deleted his number. Fast forward six months, he sends me a random message saying 'hey stranger, how's your summer?' like we were just busy. Part of me wants to reply and ask what the hell happened, but the other part thinks that's just giving them a second chance to waste my time again. Is it worth calling someone out for ghosting after all that time, or is silence the only real answer? Has anyone else had a ghost resurface and actually gotten a good explanation, or was it always just the same flaky energy again?

Do you really think asking him is gonna give you closure, or just open a door for more games? I hear you, ghosting sucks, but six months later he's basically telling you he kept your number and got bored. Even if he had some tragic excuse, the trust is already gone, and you'd probably second-guess every text after that anyway. Silence is the only move here, let him sit in the weirdness of that text with no reply.
