I finally figured out what my dates mean when they say "let's keep it casual"

I was scrolling through Reddit last week and saw a post from a woman saying she says "let's keep it casual" to avoid guys getting clingy after one date. It hit me hard because I've heard that line maybe 6 or 7 times in the last year from different women. I always thought they meant they wanted something super low effort, like just hooking up or texting once a month. But after reading that thread, I realized it's more about them not wanting me to start planning our wedding after dinner. So now I'm trying to not text them good morning every day after the first date. Has anyone else had a wake-up call like this?

Man it's like we're all just reacting to ghosts of past relationships instead of actually talking to each other... same thing happens with job interviews and friend groups too honestly.
