I finally realized what my last date was really telling me at dinner

She spent 20 minutes talking about her ex's landscaping business, how he "trimmed trees wrong" and I just nodded along. Then it hit me, she was testing if I'd call out bad work or let it slide. Has anyone else picked up on a date's hidden test like that, or am I reading too much into stuff?
