I just realized I've been picking the same type of guy for ten years
Honestly, it hit me last Friday. I was on a third date with this guy, Mark, and we were at that burger place on 5th. He spent twenty minutes telling me about his fantasy football draft strategy while I just nodded. I looked at my phone and saw a text from my best friend asking how it was going, and I typed 'fine' without even thinking. That was the moment. I typed 'fine' about a date where I was bored out of my mind. I've done this so many times. I keep going for these super confident, talkative guys because I think they're exciting, but they just talk at me. I never ask for what I want because I'm so worried about being 'chill'. Has anyone else finally seen their own bad pattern and felt kinda stupid about it?

Super confident guys are exciting though, better than boring.

Man, that reminds me of the time I kept buying the same terrible brand of coffee for like six months. Just kept telling myself it was fine, it was coffee, until my sister pointed out I was drinking bitter bean water. Sometimes you just get stuck in a loop.

But that's the whole point of dating, you find a type that works and you stick with it. Changing it up just means you're starting from zero again, and who has time for that? If confident guys are what you usually go for, there's probably a good reason. Maybe you just haven't found the right one in that type yet. Throwing out the whole pattern seems like an overreaction to one boring date about football.
