Overheard a guy at the diner say 'dating is just a numbers game' like he was ordering parts.

I mean, it made me think maybe my last few bad dates, like the one where she spent 45 minutes talking about her ex's cat, weren't personal failures but just part of the process, idk, has anyone else had a moment that made dating feel less personal?

It's like that with a lot of things now. Everything gets turned into a system or a metric, even stuff that's supposed to be about people.

Wait, you're telling me they're putting metrics on teachers now? Like grading how "inspiring" they are on a chart? I heard a friend say her school tracks "student engagement" with little clickers they have to press. How do you even measure a good conversation or the moment a kid finally gets it? That's just turning learning into a factory report.
