That dinner date where I watched a man explain his entire crypto portfolio for 45 minutes

Met someone from Hinge at The Melting Pot in Denver last Friday. He spent the whole appetizer course showing me graphs on his phone about Dogecoin and some coin called Pepe. By the time the cheese dip arrived, he was asking if I wanted to be his 'crypto buddy' and check prices together. Has anyone else gotten the full investment pitch on a first date, or was this just my unlucky night?

Oh I think some of that stuff might actually be a little off - the Melting Pot in Denver closed like two years ago, so either it was a different location or this is a made up story. Not saying you can't get stuck with a crypto guy at dinner obviously, but the restaurant detail throws the whole thing into question a bit.

Treat this as a warning sign he's bad with real world social cues.

You gotta watch for that in real life too. Had a guy at work who was great online but would totally miss when someone was trying to end a conversation face to face. Just stands there awkwardly while everyone tried to politely leave. Some people are good with the screen but totally lost in person.
