Vent: Had to pick between the boring accountant and the guy who talks about crypto on first dates
I went with the crypto guy because at least he had stories, but 20 minutes in he pulled out his phone to show me his portfolio and I realized I made the wrong call. Has anyone else gambled on the more interesting option and instantly regretted it?

Figured the boring guy might have some hidden depth or at least be stable. Instead I got a 20 minute lecture on blockchain and how he's gonna retire at 35. Pretty sure he's still renting a room in a group house. Learned my lesson though. Next time I'll take the guy who asksnormal questions and pays attention to the answer.

My last attempt at the "interesting" choice was a guy named Matt who spent the first ten minutes explaining how he once backpacked through Southeast Asia with only a hundred bucks. Sounded wild until he got to the part where he dodged paying for food and slept on beaches because he literally had no money. Then he tried to convince me that being broke is a "life hack" and showed me his blog about "minimalist living" which was just photos of him looking dirty in hostels. I spent the whole time wishing I was listening to someone talk about tax deductions instead. Now I lean towards boring on purpose because at least boring means they probably brush their teeth and know how to hold a job.
