Went from hating blind dates to actually trying one last Tuesday
I always said blind dates were a waste of time because my friend Jen set me up with her cousin 3 years ago and he spent the whole night talking about crypto. But last Tuesday at The Rusty Mug in Austin, my coworker Mike convinced me to meet his neighbor Sarah and she was actually super chill. We ended up staying 3 hours past when I planned to leave. Has anyone else had a blind date actually work out after swearing them off?

Honestly I swear I had the same exact energy about blind dates after my buddy's sister set me up with a guy who literally brought his mom along for the first date. Ngl that was a whole nightmare. But then last year my neighbor was like hey meet my coworker and I was like fine whatever and we ended up talking for like four hours at this dive bar about weird pizza toppings. Tbh it sounds like you got lucky with a good setup where the person actually knows what they're doing. So many people just throw two random singles together and hope for the best. Glad you got one that actually worked out though maybe there's hope for the rest of us.

Man that crypto guy thing hits way too close to home, I had a date once who tried to explain blockchain to me for 45 minutes straight and I just sat there nodding. It sounds like your friend Mike actually knows what you're looking for which is half the battle right there. Most people just set you up with whoever is single without thinking about if you'd actually get along.
You got lucky that Sarah was chill enough to stick around for three extra hours. That's a good sign when nobody wants to leave. Maybe I should start asking my friends to quiz people before they set me up with them.
