Got a used tamagotchi from my aunt last Christmas and I'm still mad about it
My aunt gave me a beat up tamagotchi from 1997 last December at her place in Denver. She swore it was "vintage and valuable" but the screen is scratched to hell and it doesn't even turn on. Then my cousin got a $50 Amazon gift card right in front of me. Does anyone else have a relative who gives you their old junk and calls it a gift, or is my aunt just special?

Figured there's a market for the old ones because people want that specific nostalgia hit, not the new ones that do too much. The original ones are simple and that's the whole point, you know? You just press a few buttons and keep the thing alive. Pretty sure there are collectors who pay good money for the vintage ones in good shape too. Honestly I get being salty about it, tamagotchis are weirdly personal. You bond with the little pixel thing and then it just dies on you.
