Rant: my sister told me my gift wrapping looked like a 5th grader did it and honestly she was right
So for my nephew's birthday back in March I wrapped his present in this bright red paper with about a roll and a half of tape, and I thought I did a great job until my sister picked it up and the whole thing basically fell open on the floor. She laughed and said "this looks like a 5th grader did it, you gotta stop taping the corners like you're sealing a package for shipping." I was a little annoyed but she wasn't wrong, the paper was wrinkled and lumpy and you could see the tape lines from across the room. She showed me how to do those little folds on the ends instead of just smushing the paper flat, and how to use way less tape by tucking the seam first. I practiced on like 4 empty boxes from the recycling bin in my garage before I tried a real gift again. It sounds dumb but now when I wrap stuff people actually slow down before ripping it open, which never happened before. Has anyone else had a family member roast their gift wrapping, or is it just me?
