Still mad about that $40 'as seen on TV' pasta pot

Bought one of those self-draining pasta pots from an infomercial for $40. The handle broke off on the third use and boiling water went everywhere. Has anyone else gotten burned by one of those TV gimmicks?

Actually I've had the opposite experience with that same pot. I bought one about two years ago from a late night ad and mine still works fine after probably 50 uses. The handle on mine is pretty solid, it's a thick plastic that hasn't cracked or loosened up at all. I use it for draining pasta probably twice a week and it does the job without any drama. Your mileage may vary obviously but I think a lot of people get unlucky with individual units or maybe they put it in the dishwasher when it says hand wash. The plastic handles on those things warp if you hit them with high heat. I've seen people on here complain about the same model but mine has held up.
