TIL my grandmother's 'homemade' soap was actually a melted-down hotel bar set...

I was helping clean out her closet last weekend and found a stash of those tiny soaps from a trip she took in 2006. She had a whole system, melting them in the microwave and pressing them into a flower mold. I always thought she was this crafty soap-making genius, but nope... just a really thrifty traveler who hated wasting anything. It kind of ruined the 'thoughtful gift' magic for me. Has anyone else discovered a family gift secret that made you laugh and feel a little lied to?

Adorable until you're the one cleaning bird seed off the sidewalk at 6 AM. @rowan2 wait till the squirrels figure out how to open the feeder, then it's a whole different kind of cute. My neighbor has three feeders and a live cam set up for the local cardinal drama. I give it two weeks before someone calls animal control on a blue jay for loitering.
