Appreciation post: my old boss who actually gave instructions vs the new guy who just says figure it out
Old boss spent 10 minutes walking me through the punch list at a job in Mesa, new guy handed me a napkin sketch and said use your brain. Guess which one got the job done without a callback?

What did the napkin sketch even show, like just a rough layout of the walls or did he actually mark where stuff needed to go? I've had guys hand me something like that and half the time the drawing doesn't match what's on site anyway. Ten minutes of walking a punch list sounds like a gift compared to guessing and eating a callback on your own dime. Did the new guy ever come back and check your work or was it just fire and forget?
