Rant: My old boss let us work from home on snow days, new one makes us come in instead

Last winter we had a blizzard that dumped 8 inches in Cleveland, and my previous manager just sent a Slack message saying stay home. This year my new boss sent out an email at 5 AM saying office is open and 'dress warm.' I get that different people run things differently, but having to drive 45 minutes on unplowed roads for a job I can do from my laptop is just stupid. Has anyone else had a boss who refused to let people work remote even when it clearly made more sense?

Hold up, when you say caved in, was it like a slow sag or did it just collapse all at once? I need to know if there was time to grab anything or if they just heard a crack and had to run. Like, were they scrambling to save laptops and files, or did they just get out of there immediately?

Used to be a hardass about it too. @hayden709's story woke me up though.
