Showerthought: the good weeks at bad jobs feel weird because nothing blows up
Last week was the strangest week I have had at this place in a long time because nothing went wrong. My boss actually said thanks on Tuesday, which never happens, and the project I was sure would take 12 hours wrapped up by 3pm on Wednesday. Nobody called in sick, nobody blamed me for the printer, and the one client who always yells just sent a normal email. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop the whole time, like someone would storm in about a mistake I did not even make. It made me realize the bar is so low here that a plain normal week feels like a vacation. Does anyone else get suspicious when work just goes fine for once?
