That thermostat install in Tempe took 5 hours but should have been a 30 minute swap
I pulled up to a house with a simple Honeywell upgrade. Old unit out, new one in, easy money right? Wrong. The wiring was a mess with no labels and the homeowner had gone DIY on it before me. I spent over 5 hours tracing each wire back to the air handler because they used random colors. Has anyone else dealt with a homeowner's "helpful" pre work that made your job way harder than it needed to be?

Wait, this is in Tempe right? Isn't that a city where you need a permit for any electrical work over a certain dollar amount?

People always freak out about permits for the smallest stuff.
