I used to preach that a $40 rotary trimmer beats a $300 mower, then my own lawn made me look like a clown
For like 3 summers straight I told everyone in my neighborhood that buying a gas mower was a scam and you could do any yard with a cheap rotary trimmer. I fully believed it, I even talked my brother out of a mower in 2021 and he still brings it up. Then I moved to a place in Boise with actual grass instead of the rocky dirt patch I had before. Spent 4 hours on a Saturday in July trying to knock down a quarter acre with that thing and my arms were shot by 2pm. Finally borrowed a neighbor's push mower and did the whole yard in 45 minutes. Cost me a full Saturday and a lot of pride, plus my brother's smug face. What dumb tool take did you hold onto way too long before real life proved you wrong?
