I used to think AC/DC was just noise until I saw them live in 2016

I spent years telling people Bon Scott was the only real lead singer and Brian Johnson was a screeching mess. Then my buddy dragged me to the Philly show at Lincoln Financial Field. 60,000 people losing their minds and I finally got why they're legends. Anyone else have a band they wrote off until seeing them in person?

@simonl11 So basically your buddy Kevin spent 15 years building up that grumpy old man vibe just to have it crumble in one night. Classic. I guess some bands just need 60,000 screaming strangers to prove they're not actually terrible.

Okay I get it now" is exactly what I don't get, because live energy doesn't fix bad songwriting.

My buddy Kevin had the same thing happen with Metallica. He spent like 15 years saying they sold out after the black album and Jason Newsted was a poser. His older brother had a spare ticket to the Hardwired tour in Pittsburgh and Kevin almost didn't go. He showed up as a grumpy hater and left that arena shaking his head saying "okay, I get it now." He still prefers the old stuff but he finally admitted they put on one of the best live shows he's ever seen.
