Rant: I spent 3 years telling my brother his Honda Civic was a death trap, then I bought one
Back in 2019 I was at a cookout in Dayton and went on a 20 minute rant about how anyone driving a 2005 Civic was asking for it, right in front of my brother who owned one. Two winters later my truck died and the only thing I could afford was an 04 Civic with 190k on it, and I drove that thing for 4 years without a single problem. Anybody else have a car they trashed for years end up being the one that saved them?
A 20 minute rant about Civics at a cookout is wild. Those cars are boring, sure, but calling one a death trap is a stretch. It's a little four banger that gets you to work, not a ticking time bomb. Sounds like you just needed something cheap and reliable and the Civic happened to fit. That's not really a redemption story, that's just a car doing normal car stuff.
