Spent $40 on a heated mattress pad and now I can't sleep without it

I used to think heated mattress pads were a waste of money compared to just piling on more blankets. Bought a Sunbeam one at Target back in November and it cost me $40. The first night I used it I woke up sweating and realized I had been sleeping cold for years without knowing it. Anyone else have a purchase they fought against that ended up being worth every penny?

My sister talked me into getting a countertop ice maker last summer and I thought it was the dumbest thing ever. Now I'm the one refilling it every morning because I got hooked on those little nugget ice cubes for my iced coffee. The thing was like $80 on sale and it takes up a ton of counter space but I can't go back to regular ice trays. Made my brother borrow it for a party and he ended up buying his own the next week.

Did you try putting it on a little rolling cart? That's what I did with mine, frees up the counter and I just roll it over when I need ice.

I've got a little nugget ice maker sitting on a corner of my kitchen counter too, @campbell.tara, and it's honestly the most ridiculous but amazing purchase I've made in years. I fill it up every single morning before work or I'm lost for the day. My husband called it a dumb gadget at first, now he's the one who gets mad if I forget to refill it overnight.
