TIL my uncle's advice about 'never buy a used pressure washer' cost me $350 in repairs
He told me to just get a new one from Home Depot for $200, but I ignored him and grabbed a used one off Facebook Marketplace for $80, and now after fixing the pump and replacing the hose I'm in deeper than if I'd just listened, has anyone else had a family member's hot take turn out to be the real deal?

Listen to your uncle. That man knows his stuff. Used pressure washers are junk more often than not. You learned the hard way like he probably did.

Your uncle probably learned that lesson the hard way too, that's why he warned you. Sometimes the old heads actually know what they're talking about when it comes to stuff that breaks down all the time.
