Used to think precision measuring was only for pros, changed my mind after one cabinet job

Back in my early days, I thought eyeballing cuts with a tape measure was fine for any project. Then I messed up a full set of kitchen cabinets because I was off by 3/16 of an inch. Now I use a digital caliper for everything, even simple shelf cuts. Has anyone found a good way to teach beginners why that half-a-line matters?

You mentioned "eyeballing cuts with a tape measure" but even a tape measure is way more accurate than eyeballing if you use it right. I'd argue the real trick is just teaching folks to measure twice and mark a knife line before they cut.

Nah, just close your eyes and let the spirit guide the saw blade.
