Vent: That $50 'miracle' mattress topper that ruined my back for six months

I spent $50 on a memory foam mattress topper from an online deal, thinking it would fix my old lumpy bed. All it did was turn my spine into a question mark and I woke up stiffer than a board every morning for half a year before I finally tossed it. Did anyone else get burned by one of those supposed quick fixes for a bad mattress?

Tbh I'm really curious @the_piper did yours have memory foam on top of a firmer core or was it all the same type of foam? I'm wondering if that's the difference between saving your back and wrecking it like the rest of us. My $50 one was just one solid slab of that squishy stuff that felt great for about two nights then turned into a saggy hammock.

Tossed mine after three weeks and felt immediate relief. The cheap foam just collapsed and left zero support for my lower back. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

Saved my back getting one with actual lumbar support.
