Hit my 100th sourdough loaf today, the one I almost threw in the trash

That 100th loaf came out with a gummy center and a burnt crust, but it reminded me that my first 40 attempts were so bad my neighbor asked if I was trying to smoke out the street, so has anyone else kept a crazy tally of fails just to see the win at the end?

Man, 100 loaves is a mountain of flour and patience. My own tally is sitting at 47 failed macarons and I still haven't hit one that doesn't look like a sad pancake. You gotta respect the grind though, my neighbor once called the fire department because my "artisan" bread put out that much smoke. Burnt crust and gummy middle sounds like a breakfast of champions compared to my early hockey pucks, so honestly, you're basically a pro in my book. Keep that tally going, it's the only thing keeping me from throwing my oven out the window.
