My sister in law said my cookies taste like store bought ones and I switched up my butter
She meant it as a compliment but it bugged me for a week, so I quit using cold butter and started browning it first. Now they come out chewy in the middle instead of cakey, has anyone else changed one thing and had it fix a whole recipe?

Browned butter changed my mind completely, never going back to cold.
