My sister told me to chill the cookie dough. I ignored her. Big mistake.
She works at a bakery in Austin. Told me to chill my chocolate chip dough for at least 2 hours. I thought nah, I know better. Threw them in the oven right after mixing. They spread into one giant flat cookie pancake. Wasted a whole batch of good butter and chocolate. Second batch I actually listened and waited. Came out thick and chewy, perfect. She just said 'told you.' So yeah, I was wrong. Anyone else fight against the chill step and regret it?

Man, I learned that the hard way too! @paul346 your buddy Tom's pizza cracker story has me rolling, I've been there with flat cookies. Now I just set a timer and walk away, it's not worth the heartache.

My buddy Tom once skipped the resting step on his pizza dough. Ended up with a cracker topped with sauce and cheese.
