My stand mixer tried to walk off the counter last weekend
I was making a double batch of chocolate chip cookies and the dough got too thick. The mixer started hopping around on the counter like it was alive. I had to hold it down with one hand while scraping the bowl with the other. Next time I'll split the dough in half before mixing. Has anyone else had their mixer try to escape on them?

Yeah mine tried to bail off the counter during a bagel dough batch. Had to grab it mid-air before it took a dive to the floor. Those things have a mind of their own when the dough gets stiff.

Pulled a similar move last Thanksgiving. I was making a double batch of mashed potatoes with my KitchenAid and the potatoes were way too heavy. It started doing this little shuffle dance across the counter and I panicked and grabbed the top of it. Then I accidentally pressed the lock button and dropped the whole bowl of potatoes on the floor (so that was fun to clean up).
