My stand mixer walked off the counter mid-knead, what a mess
Tuesday night I was making a double batch of sourdough and my 20-year-old KitchenAid tipped itself right off the counter during the knead cycle, scattering dough everywhere. It hit the tile floor and the bowl cracked clean in half, flour and dough all over my kitchen in under 3 seconds. Has anyone else dealt with a mixer that vibrates itself off the edge, and what did you switch to for heavy doughs?

Mine did the same thing last week, dough everywhere, I feel your pain.

@paul346 the dough explosion is one thing, but it's the cleanup that gets me. Spent half an hour scraping flour out of every crack in the counter. Also learned the hard way that a towel over the bowl does not stop the rise, it just hides the mess.
